Cox'n training - Newquay

on Fri, 2012-05-25 15:33

A few snaps from a recent trip on the bay. Helen and Gemma were preparing for their upcoming cox'n (boat handling) test and we were hoping to do a bit of rough weather practice. It didn't quite work out that way as you can see - quite the opposite in fact. But we toughed it out with a trip over to Newquay and a little bit of training along the way :)

May bank holiday - Killala

on Tue, 2012-05-08 15:02

This year we went to Killala, Co. Mayo for the May bank holiday. Two boats, sixteen divers staying in the Old Deanery holiday cottages right down by the waterside with pubs and food in walking distance. Low tide on Saturday morning meant that we weren't going to be able to launch the boats until lunchtime so people took full advantage on Friday night :)

Thanks a lot to the Killala Coast Guard unit who helped us out with storing the boats

Trainee weekend at Killary

on Fri, 2012-04-20 17:49

As well as the usual suspects, we also have a great group of trainees this year who have completed their first 5 instructor-led dives and related exercises after the recent trainee weekend in Killary and now just need to sign their Cert Request Forms to apply for their Diver 1* qualification. Thomas will have the forms in the clubhouse on Friday. OK, fine, you can apply for it any time, but how boring is that...
