First Dive of 2013

on Tue, 2013-01-15 14:29

On the 6th of January we ventured down to New Quay for the first club dive of 2013. Only a brave few took to the water. Reports came back of decent viz and plenty of small crabs.

Winter diving 2012

on Sun, 2012-12-23 21:46

GSAC diving continued through winter 2012 as always and those who were prepared for the cold were rewarded with some great scenery and vis at times. Our shallow hub rib An Bád Thanaí came into its own in the winter as always. It's so easy to launch and retrieve and perfect for the smaller groups and shorter journeys to the dive site that are typical of winter.

Killybegs 2012

on Wed, 2012-10-24 10:54

Great time in Killybegs last weekend. 11 Club Members made the trip from Galway to Donegal. John Sheahan, ably assisted by Thomas Moore, towed Joe Fada while Gareth Rogan towed the club compressor (thanks guys!). It was my first time to dive out of Killybegs and was suitably impressed with the facilities to hand.

The proximity of the large slipway to the Tara Hotel made transition from boat to shower a joy, especially when you have a leaking dry suit!!

France 2012

on Thu, 2012-10-18 21:06

I'm just back from the club holiday to Juan-les-Pins in the south of France, with day trips over to Monaco. Very different world, including the 21 degree water temperature. We had a great time, diving every day at 9am and again at 2pm, leaving us plenty of time to tour around, or just sit on the beach. Oh it's a hard life :)
